I am pleased to announce the appointments of Shawna Rodgers and Keisha Dabrowski to the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs. Shawna will serve as the Director of Development for Student Affairs and Undergraduate Academic Affairs (a shared position between both divisions) Keisha will serve as Special Assistant to the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs.
Shawna Rodgers is a development professional with over 7 years of experience in higher education and healthcare fundraising. Her previous role was as the Director of Annual Giving for Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. In this role, she raised over a $1 million through a comprehensive portfolio which included multi-campus direct mail, employee giving, and leadership giving programs. Prior to working for RWJ, she managed annual giving programs at Coppin State University in her hometown of Baltimore Maryland. She serves on the Professional Advisory Board for the Sisters Network of Central New Jersey and on the Board of Directors for Dru/Mondawmin Healthy Families, Inc. Shawna earned her B.S. in Marketing from University of Maryland, University College and lives in Bridgewater, NJ with her husband and three children. She will play an instrumental role with helping our division engage in fund raising and sustain relationships with current students and alumni who have benefited from the programs and services we provide in Student Affairs.
Keisha recently worked as the Director of Recruitment and Communications at Douglass Residential College (DRC). In her time at DRC, she facilitated a significant increase in enrollment, led the strategic vision and operations for DRC communications and marketing, and created new leadership and career development opportunities for students interested in communications, marketing, journalism, and computer science. Prior to joining Rutgers in 2012, Keisha worked at New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) for over 10 years in various functions within academic and student affairs departments. During her time at NJIT, one of her most notable achievements was overseeing the creation and execution of an Athletic Marketing and Promotions Department for NJIT Athletics. In her new role as Special Assistant to the Vice Chancellor, Keisha will oversee all aspects of the inner workings of the Vice Chancellor’s Office including communications and media relations, staffing Divisional committees and workgroups, such as the Executive Leadership Team, Student Affairs Leadership Team, Vice Chancellor Student Advisory Council, as well as several of the functions previously coordinated by Dr. Anne Newman in her role as Chief of Staff.
