Spring Break is Here!
March 10, 2023
Dear Scarlet Knights,
As we begin Spring Break, I hope that you will have the time to recuperate and rest, take a break, and prepare yourself for the rest of the semester. I urge you to remain safe and make good decisions over the next week, whether you will remain on campus, visit a more distant location, stay local, or partake in community service at home or across the country. Please continue to look out for each other and remember to be responsible and inclusive.
I’m also writing to share a few important dates with you. Most residence halls close today, March 10 at 7 p.m., and re-open on Sunday, March 19 at 10 a.m. Some residence halls do not close at all; click here for a full list of those halls, a list of on-campus resources that will remain open, and a before-you-go checklist for those leaving campus. Additionally, for anyone living in off-campus residences, I encourage you to lock your doors and windows, secure any valuables, shut blinds and curtains, and take out your trash and recycling if you plan to leave. Also, please be aware of your surroundings as you come and go, as fewer students will be in the off-campus communities.
When we return, we will have just a month and a half before the end of the semester. There will be plenty of engagement opportunities, including Scarlet Day of Service, Rutgers University Dance Marathon, GAYpril, APIDA Heritage Month, and many more.
Finally, if you know any students (or student organizations) that have demonstrated leadership, commitment, and pride for Rutgers and the community at large during the past year, I encourage you to nominate them for our annual Chancellor-Provost Student Leadership Awards. These awards are a great way for their achievements and contributions to be formally recognized and acknowledged. There is nothing more special than to be recognized by your own peers.
Have a restful, enjoyable, and safe break!
Sincerely,
Sal
