Rutgers University is providing free Narcan kits supplied by the New Jersey Department of Human Services on its New Brunswick, Camden and Newark campuses as a preventive measure to enhance the safety and well-being of community members. Douglass campus is known for its grassy lawns and towering trees, Douglass Residential College, and Rutgers’ Department of Animal Science, among much else. However, a lesser-known building stands a few blocks down Nichol Ave: the Rutgers Center for Adult Autism Services (RCAAS), which provides support programs for autistic adults who want to live independent and fulfilling lives. When incoming graduate students begin their first semesters at Rutgers University—New Brunswick, many encounter the Graduate Student Association (GSA), which is featured in multiple opening events, including the Involvement Fair and the Graduate Student Welcome.

For many years, the Division of Student Affairs at Rutgers University—New Brunswick did not have a staff member dedicated to addressing students’ spiritual needs. Now, with the hiring of Reverend Katrina Jenkins, it’s taking steps prioritize faith and spirituality at Rutgers.
