Learning

As educators, we understand that learning occurs both inside and outside the classroom. We facilitate a supportive campus environment that contributes to student learning and personal development. Additionally, we seek to inspire students to be engaged citizens within the Rutgers community and beyond.

Join us for Leading Towards Justice in the Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.: A Keynote by Angela Rye

Students at Rutgers University—New Brunswick participate in all kinds of activism—they attend rallies and protests, run for positions in Rutgers University Student Assembly, and start political organizations to make their voices heard on-campus. For the rest of January, the Cultural Center Collaborative in the Division of Student Affairs will be providing a program on social justice and activism that students can tap into: its annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Legacy Series.

Mark Schuster

Mark Schuster, dean for Graduate Student Life at Rutgers University–New Brunswick, who established emergency assistance programs and was a champion for social justice and LGBTQA+ rights, will be remembered during a virtual commemoration.

As an undergraduate student, Katie Miller SAS’17, was involved in a variety of on-campus organizations, but it was her time with RUPA that really allowed her to explore her interest in the concert production world. Her hands on experiences with RUPA ultimately connected her with her current employer Groove Boston Mission 6, the production company that helps make Beats on the Banks happen every year. Katie is back at Rutgers to help set up Beats on the Banks and reflect on her experiences with RUPA.
